Independence Day Climb: Mt. Buntis and Mt. Nagpatong

June 12 marks the Independence Day of the Philippines, thanks to our heroes who fought very hard to achieve it. In celebration of it, my brother and I joined an Independence Day Climb event organized by Peak Summit Trail . The whole team before getting started :) At pass 3 in the morning, my brother and I had our warm-up for the hike by walking from our house to Aguinaldo Highway, since tricycle is not yet available at that time. Off to the Coastal Mall Bus Terminal we headed to meet other participants. Some of the participants had their meeting place in Cubao, after fetching us at the terminal we headed to Maragondon. After a few minutes of introduction and reminders, we finally started our trek to Mt. Buntis. Fulfilling Weekend At Nagsasa Cove, Zambales

Going to places I've never been with my friends or visiting familiar places while creating new memories with my family is what I look forward to every summer. More than a month ago, I saw the event post of REACH about the beachineering for a cause in Zambales. What caught my interest in this event is the volunteering part because when I travel I'm always about exploring the beautiful sceneries and the famous/unique food the place has to offer. Exploring the place while sharing with locals and meeting new acquaintances are something that will make my summer getaway a memorable and more fulfilling one. As early as four in the morning, the REACH team started walking in a dark sandy area in Pundaquit (jump-off site) while carrying our bags full of goods to be donated.
